Speaking, Workshops & Leadership Events

Leadership conversations people remember

The best leadership conversations don't end when somebody leaves the room.

Book a Leadership Conversation
A speaker addressing a leadership event
Experience. Evidence. Humanity. Accountability.

They make people think.

They challenge assumptions, create discussion and sometimes cause people to look differently at themselves, their leadership and the organisations around them.

EmpathyWorks delivers keynote speaking, after-dinner talks, leadership workshops, facilitated conversations and bespoke leadership events grounded in the realities of leading people through pressure, complexity and change.

Our approach combines lived leadership experience, powerful stories, evidence and practical insight.

We explore leadership as it really happens: when decisions are difficult, when people are under pressure, when cultures become unhealthy, when organisations face crisis or change, and when leaders have to balance compassion and humanity with accountability, standards and performance.

These aren't lectures about leadership theory.

They are conversations designed to connect with people, provoke thought and create something that continues long after the event itself.

Speaking

Our speaking draws upon decades of leadership experience in some of the most demanding environments, alongside academic insight and the continuing work of EmpathyWorks with leaders and organisations.

Topics can be shaped around the audience and purpose of the event, but recurring themes include:

  • Compassionate leadership without compromising accountability.
  • Leading well in hard places.
  • Leadership under pressure.
  • Organisational culture and the behaviour of leaders.
  • Trauma, resilience and the human impact of demanding workplaces.
  • Creating environments in which people can perform and thrive.
  • What crisis teaches us about leadership.
  • The difference between leadership intention and leadership impact.
  • Why humanity and high performance belong together.
  • The realities, mistakes and lessons of leadership.

We can deliver keynote addresses, conference sessions, after-dinner speaking and more intimate leadership conversations for Boards, senior teams and professional networks.

Workshops and Leadership Development

Sometimes an organisation needs more than a speaker.

Our workshops create opportunities for people to explore leadership together, challenge established thinking and apply ideas directly to their own organisation and experience.

Rather than delivering generic training packages, we can design sessions around the leadership challenges, culture and development priorities of the organisation.

Sessions can range from focused leadership workshops through to longer development events and facilitated leadership days.

Facilitated Leadership Conversations

Some of the most valuable organisational conversations are also the most difficult to have.

EmpathyWorks can provide independent facilitation for Boards, senior leadership teams and wider groups where organisations need the space to explore difficult issues, strengthen relationships, consider culture or work through significant questions about leadership and organisational direction.

Our role is to create an environment where people can speak honestly, different perspectives can be heard and constructive challenge can take place.

We won't manufacture agreement where it doesn't exist.

We help people have better conversations about the things that matter.

Built around your audience

No two audiences are the same.

Before an event, we take time to understand who will be in the room, what they are experiencing and what the organisation wants the conversation to achieve.

That allows us to shape the content, stories, questions and level of challenge around the people who will actually hear it.

Whether it is a conference audience, an after-dinner event, a Board, a senior leadership team or a room of emerging leaders, the objective remains the same:

Create a leadership conversation worth remembering.

Let's talk about your event

Tell us about your audience, your event and what you want people to leave thinking, feeling or doing differently.

We'll explore what would work and shape an approach around your needs.
